Ellenbrook Fields is a green oasis in Hatfield and a valuable open space for the local
community.
A quarry on this site would be totally inappropriate. As well as the loss of public amenity and wildlife, There are unanswered questions about the continuing risk of bromate in the water supply and serious concerns about air and noise pollution.
Despite this, Conservative run Hertfordshire County Council has included Ellenbrook Fields in the draft Minerals and Waste Local Plan as a potential site for a quarry. As long as this allocation remains, a repeat application for a quarry is likely.
We’re calling on Hertfordshire Council to remove Ellenbrook Fields from the Minerals Plan and draw a line under this issue and end the prospect of a quarry on this site.
Support a green future for Ellenbrook Fields.
