Andrew Lewin and the Welwyn Hatfield Labour Party are campaigning for the urgent reinstatement of a direct bus service from the QE2 Urgent Care Centre to Lister Hospital.
The Conservatives who run Hertfordshire County Council recently cut the service. As a consequence, there is now no direct bus route between these two NHS hubs between 6.40am and 14:10 on a typical day.
Patients are being forced to change buses in Stevenage and their total journey time is well over an hour.
This is unacceptable. The very least NHS patients deserve is a frequent and direct service from the QE2 to the Lister Hospital.
Andrew Lewin (Labour Parliamentary Candidate) and all 12 Labour Councillors for Welwyn Hatfield have written to the Conservative Leader of Hertfordshire County Council, demanding an apology to patients and an immediate u-turn from the Conservative Party.
